Dan Toogood embarks on Sports Programme
Posted on the 20th November 2015 in the category Sponsorships
Dan Toogood, the newly turned golfing professional that BWOC is sponsoring, is currently taking a 6 week sports training programme at Burnham Sports Centre which allows him to focus specifically on golf exercises, such as mobility and strength, to help improve his performance for the 2016 season.
Alongside this, Dan also visits his local gym to enhance his physical performance which he believes is definitely making him feel stronger and confident in his game.
We asked Dan for some feedback on his recent events;
Burnham Medal: “I shot a +8, 78 and finished low in this one, having played 16 solid holes which I thoroughly enjoyed despite my result. Unfortunately, I had two costly mistakes which effected my overall score. However, I received some really nice comments and words of encouragement from my playing partners in that they said, ‘Irrespective of my score, I was very impressive and extremely talented’. This certainly boosted my confidence and belief in myself, which was good to hear.”
Cotswold Hills Medal: “My best result as a Pro! I achieved a bogey free 5 under 67 on a course I had never played before. All aspects of my game were sharp and I never looked like making a mistake, unlike the previous week. This result put me 2nd in the order of merit and I felt really good having proved that if I believe in myself, I can do it.”
Clevedon Medal: “This was a tough day as the weather was windy which made shot selection and judgement more difficult. I did however, get off to a great start as I was under par for 13 holes which I was very pleased with. Unfortunately though, I misjudged 2 tee shots coming in leading to a double and a bogey whilst 3 putting 17 meaning I shot 3 over par. Overall I felt I played very nicely and my shots were better than the previous week, despite having a couple of bad shots which made the score disappointing. There is always the next game!”
Dan wished once again to thank BWOC for the opportunity and the support that he has been provided. We continue to wish Dan all the best in his next events.
BWOC Sponser up & coming young golfer
Posted on the 18th November 2015 in the category Sponsorships
BWOC have agreed a sponsorship deal with a local PGA professional golfer named Dan Toogood.
Dan has recently turned Pro after a spell working as a teaching coach at Weston-super-Mare golf club. The head Pro, Ben Lock, rates Dan as the most talented golfer he has coached, and when we heard Dan was looking for sponsorship it seemed an ideal tie up of a local company and local lad looking to further his career.
The sponsorship deal will pay for Dan's expenses and entry fees into any Pro events including the Open qualifiers and will go a long way to helping him succeed on the very competitive Pro circuit.
We wish Dan all the best for the future.
BWOC are proud to donate to Leading Children's Charities

BWOC Walsall staff were busy over the festive period raising awareness & collecting donations for two very worthwhile children’s charities.
‘Who Cares? Trust’
Our annual ‘Great BWOC Bake Off’ was held on Monday 22nd December and the female staff baked a whole menagerie of festive savouries and sweet treats, while the gentlemen staff took great delight in sampling them.
Through the bake sale, we managed to raise £44.00 for the ‘Who Cares? Trust’, which supports the development of children in care.
"The Who Cares? Trust is a voice and a champion for children and young people in the UK living in care. They believe that every child in care should receive the support, encouragement and opportunities they need to enjoy their life and to achieve."
'Birmingham Children's Hospital'
Rather than do our usual office ‘Secret Santa’ we decided to buy gifts for the in-patients at Birmingham Children’s Hospital as well as to donate gifts for the waiting rooms & family areas.
The reaction to this by our sales teams was phenomenal, and within days our office filled with games, dress-up costumes, dolls, baby toys and even games consoles.
A group of us were proud to deliver the gifts to the hospital on 23rd December and we were met by the hospital fundraisers who were quite overwhelmed & grateful for our donations.
